It is written from the perspective of encouraging young people to take charge of their destinies and go for it.
On the August 24 episode of Tavis Smiley, one of the guests was journalist David Finkel. He is a staff writer for The Washington Post and in 2006 won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting he did in Yemen. His new book is an account of the Iraq surge, reported while he was embedded with the 2-16 Rangers battalion.

On the August 16th episode of The Colbert Report in a segment on the large number of intelligence agencies and over 800,000 people with Top Secret clearance, Stephen talked with security expert and author Richard Clarke. Clarke is currently Chairman of Good Harbor Consulting, and has been a long time public servant in the State Department across many presidential administrations. His newest book examines the current USA state of preparation for cyber attacks.
